Geneviève Appleton

Trained as a producer, director, writer and editor at Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto, Canada, for which she received her Bachelor of Applied Arts (Honours) in 1994, Geneviève also completed her Master's Degree in Screenwriting at York University in 2003. A former professional film and television actor, she started her career on the other side of the camera as the head researcher for the CBC documentary "Lawn and Order" (produced by Back Alley Productions). She then moved on to work as coordinator and database designer for the Independent Production Fund, business affairs database manager for Vision TV, television business analyst at the Canadian Television Fund, and producer trainee on two major Canadian productions, The Arrow in production and Such a Long Journey in development. She is now writing screenplays and producing film and television projects. Geneviève is bilingual and translates French to English television scripts and proposals. She is currently working as Assistant Professor at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey, teaching Video Production and Screenwriting. Orhan Anafarta

Orhan Anafarta works with White Wave Productions as a designer and filmmaker. He wrote and directed the short film deeprest for Turkish Radio and Television Broadcasting Corporation, and the film Would You Like to Appear in a Short Video? With a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, an M.A. in Graphic Perception and a Ph.D in Art, Design and Architecture, he taught Basic Design at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey for four years. He has received his Masters in Fine Arts at the film production program of York University (Toronto, Canada), and has been nominated for the best thesis at York University award for the short experimental film, Evil Eye: A Research on Seeing and Being Seen. With a special focus on underground, cult and horror cinema, he wrote for and designed the popular Turkish film magazine, Midnight Cinema (Geceyarisi Sinemasi) from the first issue. He now also works with STB Design in Ankara, Turkey as a filmmaker and project manager. He recently completed the corporate video for Signchron's digital traffic light system, 18 hours of corporate video footage for Çalik Holding, and is working on a web site for the European Union and the Turkish Ministry of Education. Orhan also plays classical and flamenco guitar, and is currently playing with the musical group Tango+.
